Project Detail
Driveway removal with a permeable driveway and walkway creation with a flagstone, stepping stone walkway. Sump pump subsurface routing with inset surface catch basin expansion into a stone lined rain garden basin with a seepage bed under basin.
The house has numerous under ground springs, a high ground water table as well as a convex lot that made grading difficult. We needed to pay particular attention to grading as in the narrow side lot there was only a few inches available for surface grading to route the water into the catch basins and away from the foundation. While digging for the basin, we found large amounts of medium size boulders which the client chose to use for creating a boulder wall border to the new, native, perimeter landscape beds.
